Hello again friends!
I hope this #littlehouseontheranch update finds you well. We are doing great around here, thanks for asking.
I feel extra adulty today because I successfully re-enrolled MyFarmer and myself in our health insurance, so if you notice this post is extra mature, you know why.
It’s not gonna be.
Well, maybe I’ll just get through this post without a “that’s what she said” joke. And maybe not. We’ll just have to see.
Things on the house are rolling along. It seems like things are happening fast, but not getting completed fast, if that makes sense. Right now a lot of projects are getting started, and everything gets worked on little by little. The only thing getting on my nerves is the fact that it seems like the siding on the house will NEVER be done. But that’s mother natures fault, and being mad at her really does no good. What’s even more annoying about mother nature is that we have officially been in harvest for THREE MONTHS and we still.aren’t.done. Everyone on the home front is getting grumpy about that. And there’s a 90% chance of rain today. *Insert sobbing emoji here*
Exciting news! My larger than average human size bathtub is here! And for the 3 days it sat in the living room all I did was lay in said tub on the living room floor. MyFarmer was embarrassed, I was in heaven.
The heat and air was installed sometime in the last week or so. We will have separate temperature controls for the master loft and downstairs. I predict that MyFarmer will control upstairs and I will control downstairs. Because marriage is compromise. I’ll let you all know how that goes.
There is some tile in the bathrooms!
And they have made good headway on the trim.
We have a hallway! With doors! To rooms! How exciting!
Is it weird to have a favorite door? Well I do. It’s the hobbit door in the upstairs closet. It goes out to the area over the front porch that we can use for storage. Can I get an amen that we don’t have to shove totes of crap up the rickety ladder to the attic?!
Just look at how stinking cute that little door is. It reminds me of “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” Except it’s a closet door, inside of a closet door. And it’s just a portal to a storage room, not a magical land. But other than those small differences, it’s exactly the same.
See y’all later, I’m headed to Narnia. JK – I’m gonna sit the in the little room above the porch.
